![]() FP2 on Saturday morning we changed the gearing and made some other adjustments. The lap time improved by around 2 seconds and also reduced the gap to the leaders. The gearing was much better, Qualifying was early afternoon. Gear shifting problems appeared again but we still managed to improve the lap time by another 1.5, again reducing the gap to the leader to 4.8 seconds. Will need to improve practice and qualifying more as starting so far back on the grid is not good. At least it was improvement each session when everyone else is doing the same. The front runners were going a second faster than last year. (Photo: Qualifying, Stacey Nesbitt #3 tucked in behind Theo Clerc #14 at the Melbourne Loop) The race was earlier this round at 10:30am. Stacey got a good start and moved up three positions. Unfortunately the quick sifter was not working at all after turn one so she had to do without it. She was having a good race long battle with #11 until lap 8 when entering the main straight the engine cut out and stopped. It would not restart and Stacey free wheeled down to the Esses and stopped. It eventually restarted but the time lost coasting and stopped at the side of the track dropped her to 24th and a lap down. However, it did still count as a finish so although no overall EJC championship points Stacey was able to salvage some points for the Women's cup. A disappointing race result but overall there were many positives to take away. Donington is not an easy track for the first time with Craner Curves and blind turn ins but Stacey was still able to reduce the gap to the leaders by three seconds compared to Assen. The goal is to continue reducing that gap much further. Looking forward to round 4 at Misano in a few weeks.
